Aldermaston byelaws judicial review decision, 5 February

The decision on whether the Aldermaston byelaw criminalising camping on MoD land outside the fence will be heard on Thursday 5 February at 10.15 at the High Court (Strand, London). This judgment arises from a judicial review of the byelaws introduced in 2007 by the Secretary of State for Defence. The first hearing in February 2008 quashed a byelaw criminalising hanging banners on fences, but the camping byelaw remained. This was appealed in November.

The decision on the legality of this byelaw is crucial not only to the women's camp, but also to the right to protest
